As Programme Coordinator, I work with the Artistic Director and Youth Board to ensure we have a range of exciting shows for young people & families across dance, drama and puppetry. I work with artists and companies are making high-quality work that reflects young lives today.
I was born into a family of artists with different disciplines from music to painting, sculpture and photography – so I’ve always been aware of the significance the arts can have on people’s lives. I started acting with a local drama group when I was 5 years old, and since then I haven’t been able to shake my love of drama and theatre. I met lots of incredible creative people whilst studying Drama at Queen Mary University of London and volunteered to run arts activities with local charities in my spare time. I then started working on my own intergenerational arts project, a highlight of which was producing a community project for High Street 2012 part of the Cultural Olympiad. Since then I’ve worked in administrative and project management roles in theatre and outdoor arts organisations in London, including the Albany, Theatre Peckham and Mandinga Arts.
I’m thankful now to have found a new home in Oxford having landed my dream job at Pegasus Theatre.
Pegasus is a place to experience, learn and engage with theatre no matter what your age or background. It’s places like Pegasus that have helped shape me into who I am today and I want to make sure that they continue this work for generations to come.
