We are delighted to be hosting Dancin’ Oxford’s Moving With The Times at Pegasus.

Moving With The Times this year features three strong emerging companies with a range of exciting work.

Burning House from Amy Foskett Dance is a highly physical contemporary dance piece that explores human mortality, our bodies and our planet. Ignorance is bliss and we are blissfully ignoring it, disregarding death and highlighting dangerous ‘immortality’.

In a time of tick boxes, labels and separation, Thomas Page Dances’ Commonality looks at the parts of life that everyone has in common. Through the exploration of shared experiences and feelings, this performance paints the possibilities of coming together as one community. Featuring contemporary dance, a unique score, live photography and lots of tape!

Drishti Dance is a well-established performing arts organization, producing high quality Classical Indian dance works.
Sanket is a Sanskrit word that that translates to ‘to give direction’. Choreographed by Anuradha Chaturvedi, the Artistic Director of Drishti Dance, the work is a contemporary expression of Kathak dance, inspired by the concept of Astadikpala or Eight Guardians of Directions. It is an exploration of compass directions, imagined as live elemental forces, embodying personal experiences and journey of human consciousness.
The project is funded by grants for Arts from Arts Council England and Evolution fund, of Oxford Dance forum and is supported by Dance Reading.

There are no age restrictions for this piece and younger audiences are very welcome, but it is likely to be enjoyed most by those aged 11+

Dancin’ Oxford are also offering the opportunity for any ticket holder to stay post-show and enjoy an informal  discussion about the piece you’ve just seen. (The session will be maximum 60 mins). This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to build more confidence in watching and talking about dance, or anyone who already enjoys talking about dance!

In addition to the post-show session there will be an Introductory session (open to ALL ticket holders) at 6pm at Pegasus Theatre (duration 60 mins). If you’d like to attend this one-off pre-show session, please e-mail Miranda at miranda@mirandalaurence.co.uk.
