Still We Rise is the latest production from Pegasus 16-25 Young Company focused on stories of the phenomenal women in our lives who battle against the odds to be themselves and who inspire strength in all of us.
Working in partnership with young people from Oxford’s twin cities of Perm and Grenoble Pegasus 16-25 Young Company have created a new piece of theatre inspired by stories, poetry and song from around the world about what it takes to face your fears and stand up for your rights. It is a tribute to the fearless people everywhere who face injustice and fight back.
Using Maya Angelou’s poem Still I Rise as a starting point for inspiration, as well as stories of Suffrage, the piece will explore democratic rights of women in different cultures.
