Make Your Mark

People have always been making their mark. Think ancient cave paintings, graffiti artists, school desks and park benches. Our need to visually express ourselves is strong; the need to surround ourselves with art is important. With the launch of Make Your Mark, Pegasus Theatre Oxford is hoping the building will be the site of a visual takeover by daring young creatives and the power of self-expression.

In 2017, young artist Cydney Eva, came to Pegasus from Canada and created the ‘Corridor of Joy’ murals on the upper corridor and by the dressing rooms. Cydney’s company is Pattern Nation and her works can be seen here

This inspired us to open up Pegasus and we are looking for young artists to design and create bespoke artworks throughout our building. Pegasus is a public building with young people at its heart. It is full of blank space waiting to be filled with art. We are offering a chance for aspiring artists to have their work on public display and to use our building as a site for experimentation, creativity and play.

The project will be led by Django Pinter. His work can be seen here

We are looking for three new artworks that respond to the theme set by our Youth Board for 2018-19: Fired Up, Fearless and Free
