Exploring themes of youth, identity, survival and belonging, these new works offer fresh perspectives on the world of the main production, by turns playful, poignant and provocative.

Mashing Bodies by James Malam – directed by Lucy Findlay
Mashing Bodies: When a governmental systems force young people into facilities, two boys have different plans.
Underpopulation is the biggest issue the country is facing. To combat this, ‘SPA’ facilities are introduced, where 18 year olds are sent to procreate and learn to rear children. Two boys however have other ideas…
Shallow Resting Place by Lauren Carter – directed by Lucy Findlay
Shallow Resting Place: When Charlie and Sophia reunite after years of no contact, a seductive spell is cast.
Set against the Oxfordshire prairies, Charlie and Sophia, reunite after three years. This tender and poetic short play is a brutal exploration of the addictive nature of nostalgia, the consequences of romanticising the people we love and not to mention, hares.

Lauren Carter (@laurencarteer )
Lauren is a playwright and director, compelled to tell stories about women, queerness, community and environment. Since graduating from Drama Centre’s BA Directing, she’s directed her writing at various venues: FACE DOWN IN THE DIRT (King’s Head, 2023 – BOLD Playwright Longlist),The Burning (Oxford Playhouse, Edinburgh Fringe, Wilton’s Music Hall, 2024). Previously, Lauren was the Resident Director of the Oxford Playhouse, during which she co-founded Queer Fest. Lauren also has experience directing the work of emerging playwrights (Arcola Theatre, Reading Rep, Pegasus Theatre) and works within educational settings, making work with and for young people.
James Malam (@Jamesmalam )
James is an actor and Writer from Hull and a graduate from ArtsEd. His first play ‘NEEDY’ debuted as part of the Lambeth Fringe last year. His work usually explores connection and loneliness. ‘MASHING BODIES’ is his second play.
Matilda Rae (@RatildaMae)
Matilda is an East London native and creative. Her acting credits include Call The Midwife (BBC) and the original cast of Tatty Hennessy’s Olivier nominated Animal Farm adaptation (UK Tour) in which she played Squealer to rave reviews.
As a writer and director, Matilda is currently developing several projects, including a drag and cabaret infused show about her late, great Uncle Stan. She is also in the early stages of developing her own company, Blue Corner, a space that nurtures and encourages creativity, even when you’re feeling ‘blue’ and which will tell stories surrounding mental health.

Lucy Wilson is a playwright, actor and theatre maker from Scotland. She has worked with companies including Theatre503, WonderFools, Framework Theatre and Persistent and Nasty, and was part of the first cohort of Old Vic Theatre Makers. She loves a panto.
Nemo Carter (@nemo.lovelace)
Nemo is an experimental artist/producer and facilitator based in London. His practice explores neuroqueer relationships to intimacy and grief through food art and performance rituals. Nemo works across several genres including theatre, live art, and cabaret, and thrives in the blur between these mediums.
Their recent work includes [no] good grief, Shock Horror, and The Muppette Show. Nemo’s background as a facilitator informs his directing style, focusing on collaborative, accessible, and nonhierarchical methodology. Having grown up queer in Oxford, Nemo is excited to be working alongside Everybody Panic on a project that is, in many ways, close to home.
Lucy Findlay (@lucyfindlayarts)
Lucy Findlay is an emerging queer director and theatre maker based in Oxford. Since graduating from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in Applied Theatre and Community Drama in 2022, she has developed a wide portfolio of theatre work – specialising in stories of the weird and the wonderful. She is currently Director of the Oxford Playhouse Youth Theatre, Assistant Director of Oxford Playhouse Adult Company and is a regular director on the Prototype new writing evening. She is also the MC for Oxford’s QueerFest Scratch Night. Lucy is incredibly excited to be joining the creative team of All of Them, Dead!
