We offer a range of drama and dance classes, designed to expand young imaginations and encourage creativity

Our Spring term is now open for booking. Courses must be booked in advance. We have undertaken the following measures to ensure the safety of all our participants.

For every class we run, we offer a limited number of free supported spaces. We also offer a range of referral only classes for vulnerable groups. For more information, please contact participation@pegasustheatre.org.uk

Drama

Meet new people, learn performance and storytelling skills and help devise a brand new piece of drama in this exciting weekly course. Find out what it’s like to be part of a theatre ensemble, working together to bring imagined worlds to life on the Pegasus stage.

Drama 5-8: Mondays 4:15 – 5:15pm and Tuesdays 4 – 5.00pm

Drama 8-11: Tuesdays 5:30 – 7.00pm  

The courses will run from 11 Jan 2021 to 30 March 2021. There will be no session on 15/16 Feb (half term).

You can guarantee your place by paying in full if you wish to, or with a non-refundable first installment payment of £10 and then up to 4 further installments to complete payment, before 5pm on Friday 18 Dec.

Street Dance

Are you bursting with energy? Do you love to dance? Come and join this high-energy street dance course to learn new moves, try out your own choreography and make friends. You will work together to create a short performance to show to family and friends at the end of term. These courses are open to all levels of experience.

Juniors (8-11): Wednesdays 4 – 5.00pm

Seniors (11-15): Wednesdays 5.30 – 6.30pm  

Are you looking to develop your choreography and street dance skills? For our older students we have Street Dance Crew. Previous dance experience is recommended.

Crew (16-25): Wednesdays 7 – 8.15pm 

The courses run from 13 Jan 2021 to 31 March 2021. There will be no session on 17 Feb (half term).

Catalyst

Catalyst is a Pegasus project for adults (18+) with physical and learning disabilities and their support workers. Working through drama and a range of other art forms, the group work towards an inclusive performance at Pegasus in July that celebrates the lives, experiences and skills of the Catalyst participants.

Catalyst: Tuesdays 10:30am – 12:30pm

The course will run on Tuesdays, from 12 Jan 2021 to 30 March 2021. There will be no session on 16 Feb (half term).

Remix

Remix is a Pegasus project for young refugees, asylum seekers or migrants aged 13-18. Through drama games and exercises, young people develop language skills, confidence and new friendships while working towards a performance that shares their creativity with a wider audience.

Pegasus is very pleased to be partnering with EMBS College in Cowley, Oxford to deliver weekly, Remix sessions to English Language students. 

Remix: Thursdays 10:45-12:45am

The course will run on Thursdays, from 14 January 2021 to 1 April 2021. There will be no session on 18 Feb (half term).

Looking Forward

Pegasus runs two free weekly drama projects funded by BBC Children in Need:  Looking Forward and Acting Out.

Looking Forward is for young women facing a range of challenges in their lives and runs in two groups, 11-14 and 14-18.  The sessions use a variety of art forms to help participants build confidence, self-esteem and an ability to positively interact with their peers, whilst also offering some respite from their day to day challenges.

11-14: Tuesdays 4 – 5.30pm  
14-18: Tuesdays 6 – 7.30pm 

The courses will run on Tuesdays, from 12 January 2021 to 30 March 2020. There will be no session on 16 February (half term).

Acceptance on to this project is by referral only.  It is helpful for participants to have an interest in drama, but no previous experience is required. If appropriate for the groups, we provide opportunities to share work with their families and friends at the end of each term.

Acting Out

Our other free weekly drama project funded by BBC Children in Need is Acting Out.

Acting Out is for children in Years 5 and 6 who are experiencing challenging circumstances at home or school. Sessions are designed to improve and develop participants’ confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. Using drama games and role play, we also introduce a range of theatre skills and techniques.

Acting Out: Mondays 4 – 5.30pm

The course will run on Tuesdays, from 12 January 2021 to 30 March 2020. There will be no session on 16 February (half term).
