We offer a range of drama and dance classes, designed to expand young imaginations and encourage creativity
Courses must be booked in advance. For every class we run, we offer a limited number of free supported spaces. We also offer a range of referral only classes for vulnerable groups. For more information, please contact participation@pegasustheatre.org.uk
Drama
Does your child have an incredible imagination? Give them the opportunity to explore that in our exciting weekly drama classes. Your child will have a wonderful time learning performance and storytelling skills in a supportive, creative environment. See their confidence grow as they find out what it’s like to be part of a theatre performance, and watch them take to the stage at the end of term performance for friends and family.
Drama 5-8: Tuesdays 4 – 5.00pm
Drama 8-11: Tuesdays 5:30 – 7.00pm
The courses will run on Tuesdays, from 6 Sept 2022 to 22 Nov 2022. There will be no session on 25 October (half term).
You can guarantee your place by paying in full if you wish to, or with a non-refundable first instalment payment of £10 and then up to 4 further instalments to complete payment, before 29 August.

Hip Hop Dance
Master some fresh moves and get into the exciting world of Hip Hop with critically-acclaimed dance company Body Politic.
Learn choreography, develop your technique, and create your own moves in these hip hop dance classes led by experienced instructors. Gain confidence in yourself as we empower you to move your body in a safe and supportive environment. Students will get the opportunity to show off their new moves at a short performance at Pegasus Theatre at the end of term. These courses are open to all levels of experience.
Juniors (8-11): Wednesdays 4 – 5.00pm
Seniors (11-15): Wednesdays 5.30 – 6.30pm
Are you a serious dancer? Join our dance troupe Hip Hop Crew and work with award-winning dance company Body Politic. For dancers aged 16-25, learn how professional dancers create choreography and approach artistic projects. If you’re looking to take your dance training to the next level, this group is for you. Previous dance experience is recommended.
Crew (16-25): Wednesdays 7 – 8.30pm
The courses will run on Wednesdays, from 7 Sept 2022 to 23 Nov 2022. There will be no session on 26 October (half term).

Body Politic Summer Camp
Like showing off your Hip Hop moves? Want to try boxing? We’re partnering with our dance company in residence Body Politic and independent gym Project PT to offer 5 days of:
– Lifting, sport skills and boxing sessions
– Hip Hop classes
– T-shirt designing
– End of week performance at Pegasus Theatre!
Body Politic and Project PT bring experienced, friendly, inclusive teachers, with a passion for movement. This Summer Camp will empower young people (aged 8 – 16) to have fun, be creative and learn new skills.
25-29th July 2022
8-11yrs: 9am -12:30pm
12-16yrs: 1pm -4:30pm
This course costs £100 for the week includes lunch/tea and t-shirt

Remix
Remix is a Pegasus project for young refugees, asylum seekers or migrants aged 13-18. Through drama games and exercises, young people develop language skills, confidence and new friendships while working towards a performance that shares their creativity with a wider audience.
Pegasus is very pleased to be partnering with EMBS College in Cowley, Oxford to deliver weekly, Remix sessions to English Language students.
Remix: Thursdays 10:45-12:45am

Looking Forward
Looking Forward is for young women facing a range of challenges in their lives and runs in two groups, 11-14 and 14-18. The sessions use a variety of art forms to help participants build confidence, self-esteem and an ability to positively interact with their peers, whilst also offering some respite from their day to day challenges.
11-14: Tuesdays 4 – 5.30pm
14-18: Tuesdays 6 – 7.30pm
The courses will run on Tuesdays.
Acceptance on to this project is by referral only. It is helpful for participants to have an interest in drama, but no previous experience is required. If appropriate for the groups, we provide opportunities to share work with their families and friends at the end of each term.

Acting Out
Acting Out is for children in Years 5 and 6 who are experiencing challenging circumstances at home or school. Sessions are designed to improve and develop participants’ confidence, teamwork, and communication skills. Using drama games and role play, we also introduce a range of theatre skills and techniques.
Acting Out: Mondays 4 – 5.30pm
The course will run on Mondays.
Acceptance on to this project is by referral only. It is helpful for participants to have an interest in drama, but no previous experience is required. If appropriate for the groups, we provide opportunities to share work with their families and friends at the end of each term.
