Pay What You Can
Please note Girls Like That contains language of a sexual and graphic nature and age guidance is 16+ (parental discretion advised for younger teenagers)
The boomsatsuma Professional Acting Diploma at Pegasus Theatre presents Girls Like That by Evan Placey, performed by an all female cast of 10.
When a naked photograph of schoolgirl Scarlett goes viral, rumours spread across smartphones like wildfire and her reputation becomes toxic, threatening to shatter the fragile unity of the girls she has grown up with.
But how long can Scarlett remain silent? And why isn’t it the same for boys? Using music and dance sequences, and featuring shifts in time to explore the evolution of feminist consciousness, the play focuses on adolescent female friendship in the present day and its fragility in the face of societal and cultural pressures.
The boomsatsuma Acting Diploma at Pegasus Theatre is developed in association with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School – part of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama, and one of the leading drama schools in the world. It is a unique course that draws on the richness and rigour of drama school training but makes it available for 16-18 year olds at Pegasus Theatre in Oxford. In short, it delivers the highest quality training that will equip you to take the next steps to be a professional actor.
