Nigel likes to walk the corridors at night, the New Guy’s arrived from hospital after a stroke and in a bad way, and Celia’s always cradling the TV remote from Geoff ‘s room in her armpit.
Ava, Sam and Hamish are care workers on a night shift, and between checks, they keep each other awake by chatting about everything from why Hamish isn’t Scottish to Sam’s darkwave band . One problem – the New Guy’s IV medication has to be done by Jessica, and she’s late and not answering her phone. Do they wait for her, or do they call Laura, their terrifying manager, to protect themselves?
