Pegasus is about to embark on the first steps on its exciting new journey. Significant work has been done to adapt the organisation’s business model to ensure that it is fit for the future and our vision, mission and values have been reviewed and reimagined. We are looking for new trustees to join our small but committed board to provide strategic oversight and practical support and guidance for the Joint CEOs and staff team. .
Role overview
Pegasus Theatre Trust is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Board Members, who are also trustees, are personally liable to contribute up to £1 each in the case of the company’s closure. This is a voluntary role, but expenses are payable to cover approved travel and accommodation costs incurred in the pursuance of the work of the Trust.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Legal and financial oversight of the Pegasus Theatre Trust
- The continued development of the work and functions of Pegasus Theatre Trust within its stated policies.
- The efficient running of the operation with full accountability to its funding bodies.
General Responsibilities:
- To work in partnership with other trustees and the Executive Team to realise the vision, mission and responsibilities of the Pegasus Theatre Trust.
- To develop and sustain positive relationships between the trustees’ and staff members
- To ensure that Pegasus Theatre Trust complies with its governing document, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation or regulations
- To contribute actively to the board of trustees’ to provide firm strategic direction to the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals and setting targets and evaluating against agreed targets
- To promote and safeguard the reputation and values of the organisation
- To ensure the effective and efficient administration of the organisation and its financial stability
- To protect and manage the property of the charity and to ensure the proper investment of the charity’s funds.
- To aid in the appointment of the Executive Team and monitor and support them in their roles.
In addition, trustees are asked to use their relevant skills, specialist knowledge and experience to help the board to reach sound decisions. This includes attendance at sub committee meetings and away days and involves:
- Scrutinising board papers and financial information
- Leading and/or contributing to discussions on specific topics
- Providing guidance on new initiatives and key issues
- Taking a lead role on behalf of the trustees (e.g. finance, HR, development, environmental and safeguarding)

Trustees do not need to have any previous experience of committee work; we will provide training and mentorship from other trustees as necessary.

Casual – Duty Manager
Job Purpose
Casual Duty Managers report to the Front of House Manager and are responsible across all elements of our front of house operation for the welcome, service, and safety of all people using, visiting and working at Pegasus. The FOH team work on a shift system over seven days of operation to cover: course administration, course support, online ticket sales, management of live and online show activity and day to day building operation.
Employment Terms – Casual Worker Contract
Pay £12.60 per hour
We will offer you work when it arises, and you can either accept the work offered, or decide not to take up the offer of work on that occasion.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days a year plus 8 bank holiday days a year pro rata (against 37 hours a week 12-month full time entitlement)

· Provide friendly, informed access to our entire front of house services; ticket sales, performances, creative learning activities, general enquires and facilities.
· Provide excellent customer service achieving the highest levels of audience satisfaction.
· Take pride in maintaining the building and its equipment providing the best possible experience for audiences, participants, visitors and staff.
Principal Duties
Implementation and Delivery
The provision of informed access to our entire front of house operation, ensuring exceptional facilities and service are offered that are responsive to need, demonstrate our value and engage customer loyalty.
The opening and closing of the building and facilitate the day-to-day operation and activity; ensuring a safe environment and fully functioning facilities during operating hours, resolving immediate emergency, first aid, security or licensing issues and identifying and referring as appropriate potential issues that require attention.
The effective house management of shows, courses and events; liaising with programming staff, performers, technicians, facilitators, audience and participants, welcoming and communicating necessary information, preparing, supervising and managing spaces and time to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the activity.
The sale and issue of tickets for our programme of activity through our Ticketsolve box office system: correctly taking bookings and payments by phone; accurately reconciling daily taking and floats, capturing appropriate audience data for marketing and audience development purposes whilst maintaining compliance with data protection regulations.
The accurate maintenance of registration records and awareness of the safety and wellbeing of all young people attending our classes and ensuring the reporting pastoral or safeguarding concerns to the Designated/Deputy Safeguarding Lead.
The sale and issue of hot and cold beverages and snacks as the programme activity dictates, correctly handling all cash and card transactions; accurately reconcile daily takings and float; adhering to food hygiene procedures; ensure that all stock items are clearly displayed and available for sale.
Maintain an up-to-date informed knowledge of all programmed activity in order to assist the marketing and promotion of all Pegasus’s activity, ensure front of house displays and information are updated in a timely and appropriate manner.
General
To undertake any other duties to this post as reasonably required.

Selection Criteria
Essential
· 12 months + previous experience working in customer service or events focused role
· Excellent personal presentation skills with the ability to communicate ideas and information effectively to a wide range of people.
· A resourceful attitude combined with the ingenuity and creative skills to identify and resolve issues and problems.
· A commitment to providing excellent service with enthusiasm and a positive can-do attitude
· Attention to detail, with a methodical approach to administrative tasks
