Dancin' Oxford and Pegasus Theatre are delighted to premiere new works from three extraordinary artists and companies, the recipients of the 2025 Moving With The Times dance commissions. This year we welcome Vita Peach, Juan Sánchez Plaza and the Nomad Dance Collective, andScarlett Perdereau.
The Moving With The Times commissions provide a unique opportunity for early to mid-career artists to develop new work, and these grants have become a vital stepping stone in the UK dance landscape. Since 2015, this initiative has supported artists who have gone on to make a significant impact in the field of dance, with alumni including Richard Chappell Dance, Justice in Motion, and Body Politic.
Running time 90 mins
Ages 14+
Vita Peach @vitapeachperformer
A versatile performer and former MWTT commission recipient, Vita's background spans contemporary dance, theatre, and burlesque. Her work is known for its humour and physicality, drawing from a wide range of styles, including clowning, cabaret, hip-hop, and jazz. Vita's Moving With The Times commission will explore men's mental health, societal pressures, and suppressed emotions. Her new piece, infused with wit and sharp physicality, will fuse dance, theatre, and film to connect with audiences in an intimate and powerful way.
Juan Sánchez Plaza - Nomad Dance Collective @juansanchezplaza
Juan is a queer, neurodivergent, migrant dancer based in London, whose work is deeply rooted in themes of identity, migration, and social justice. He plans to create a piece, a duet, that critiques societal power structures, celebrating queerness while addressing global issues like inequality and environmental degradation. With a powerful political message and compelling choreography, Juan's work promises to engage audiences on an emotional and intellectual level.
Scarlett Perdereau @scarlettperdereau
Scarlett is an independent French dance artist based in London, whose 20+ years' career spans dance, theatre, opera, film, multimedia and site-specific performance, and whose style combines abstraction with emotional depth. Scarlett plans to create a piece that will explore the interconnectedness of time, space, and personal growth through a fusion of contemporary dance, music, and digital visuals. This solo performance will immerse audiences in a dreamlike exploration of cosmic forces and human emotions, offering a mesmerising experience that combines the beauty of movement with philosophical depth.
