Young people are the heart of Pegasus. The Youth Board is for young people aged 13-25 to help shape the future of the theatre.

About the Pegasus Youth Board

Pegasus has been creating theatre for, by, and with young people in East Oxford for over 50 years, inspiring journeys filled with opportunity, aspiration and imagination. To ensure that a youth perspective is at the heart of everything we do, Pegasus is re-launching its Youth Board.

Pegasus is looking for up to 10 young people, aged 13-25, to volunteer their time to help plan and shape the future of the theatre.

Meeting at least 4 times per year, the Pegasus Youth Board will make a positive difference to the life of the theatre and young people in Oxford. They will make an impact through the ideas and interests they champion, the advice they give, and the activities they propose and lead.

What will the youth board do?

Working alongside Pegasus’ staff, Youth Board members will:

Access performances at the theatre
Influence the development of new work
Advise on issues and policies from a youth perspective
Represent the theatre at local and national events
Have the chance to programme shows and events at Pegasus
Develop teamwork and leadership skills
Deepen their understanding of how a business and charity is run

Who might be interested?

Potential youth board members might:

Be aged 13-25
Have an interest in the arts or business
Have specific campaigning interests, such as the environment or equality and diversity

You do not have to have attended Pegasus already to apply to join the Youth Board.

Pegasus is keen to hear from d/Deaf and disabled young people, young people from LGBTQIA+ communities, and young people from the global majority.
