I am a theatre practitioner and actor working in the Oxfordshire area. I first got involved working on projects with young people at the age of eighteen, as a course assistant for Stage 65 Youth Theatre at The Salisbury Playhouse. Since then I have trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and completed a degree in Drama and English Literature at Oxford Brookes University where I was a recipient of the Pegasus Award for Drama and Involvement in Community Theatre. I have worked on projects all over Oxfordshire ranging from stories about the first world war to folklore inspired tours of Oxford Castle.
In addition to my performing I also work as a drama facilitator, using theatre to help students learning English as a foreign language and running after school drama clubs in the region. I particularly enjoy leading sessions with schools such as Pegasus’ Tale Trail project combining two of my areas of work, creative writing and performance. I believe that stories make us human, and I find providing the opportunity for young people to voice their stories is as rewarding as telling my own.
