I trained as an actor and worked in theatre, television and radio for 13 years before choosing to concentrate on work as a theatre practitioner working with young people.
I have a long-standing relationship with Polka Theatre in Wimbledon: I am the project manager and youth theatre director for the Freefalling project, a drama programme for 9-11 year olds experiencing challenging circumstances at home or school. I am also the lead practitioner on Polka’s Playhouse project, a new writing project that brings together schools, established writers and theatres in London, Plymouth, York and Birmingham.
I am a Learning Associate with the National Theatre Learning Department, writing and delivering workshops as part of their Primary Programme team, while my work with Mousetrap Theatre Projects takes place mostly in schools for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. As a director I work for Primary Shakespeare Company, creating work with young people that is presented in festivals across London, and as a teaching artist at Hillyfield Primary Academy, a school in Walthamstow that I worked in collaboration with for Creative Partnerships. I also devise and direct short, silent movies for Film in Education, a company that brings schools from London together annually for a Silent Film Festival at the Criterion Theatre.
I am very pleased to be working at Pegasus Theatre and I’m looking forward to creating shows with children and young people in Oxford.
